My work is influenced by the intricacies of cellular structures. I start with imagery from microscope slides of plant or animal tissues and create patterns using intuitive layers of color. I am curious about the way colors interact, be it through their hue, value or intensity.

Initially I was taken by photos and drawings in laboratory guides and old zoological textbooks, but during a Plant Anatomy course I spent hours examining botanical slides. These amazing images inspired awe as well as a new series of paintings.
